Driving in snow, wind, sleet and ice can make anyone nervous and these are all the potential ingredients for tomorrows Nor'easter. Do you know what to do in the event your vehicle starts to slide or if you get stuck in the snow? Do you have the proper insurance coverage if you have to venture out and have an accident?

At Georgetown Insurance we are locals just like you and understand the true meaning of a Nor'easter.  We know that you can't always stay home and wait it out.  While staying home is the best way to ensure safe and accident free winter and should be done whenever possible; if you have to go out there are things that you can do to reduce the likelihood of an accident.

  • Slow down and always leave plenty of extra time to reach your destination
  • Leave at least 4 car lengths between you and the car in front, on average it takes 3 times as long to come to a complete stop.
  • Understand the systems in your car and how to properly use them (ABS, AWD, electronic stability control, etc) but don't let them give you a false sense of security.
